Bronze Palanquin Finial | 9.5 inches high x 10 inches wide x 5 inches deep


Finial is a decorated covering for the ends of the carrier-poles of the Palakis (Palanquin). Done in brass these were placed at the end of the poles of a palanquin as an accessory for adornment, apart from that it was also considered a symbol of protection during travel. The Finials were primarily manufactured in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
